OpenAI Rolls Out GPT-6 With "Intelligent UI" That Builds Charts, Forms and Calculators in ChatGPT
Paid users got access Tuesday, with free users following a day later.
OpenAI on Tuesday began rolling out GPT-6 in ChatGPT with a feature it calls Intelligent UI, which lets the assistant generate interactive elements such as charts, forms, calculators and buttons directly in a conversation instead of replying with text alone.
Faster answers
OpenAI said GPT-6 Instant begins responding 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant for questions that require web search, based on internal testing.
Rollout
- October 7: Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise subscribers
- October 8: Free and Go users
OpenAI cited more than 1.2 billion weekly ChatGPT users.
A crowded fall for AI models
The launch caps a frenetic stretch for frontier AI labs. In early September, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI and Google all shipped model updates in the same week, a pace CNBC said was producing "model fatigue." OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra, released in September with an emphasis on cybersecurity and computer use, was among the larger launches, and an ultrafast variant running on Nvidia Blackwell GPUs reached the OpenAI API on October 1.
