Apple Unveils $299 HomeView Smart Display, Shipping November 13

Apple announced HomeView on October 13, a smart display for the home priced at $299 in the U.S. Pre-orders opened the same day, and general availability begins November 13, 2026.

What it is

HomeView has a 7-inch Liquid Retina display attached by a stainless steel hinge to a domed speaker base. A second version is designed for wall mounting and costs the same $299. Apple lists the tabletop model in four colors and the wall-mounted model in two.

• Chip: A18, with Secure Exclaves protecting camera and microphone data
• Display: brightness adjusts from 500 nits to 0.3 nits, with True Tone
• Audio: two full-range drivers in the display, plus a down-firing woofer and two passive radiators in the base
• Users: recognizes up to six people by face and shows each a personalized Home Screen
• Camera: the Home Camera view can show up to nine video feeds

Apple said the device is built around Siri AI, which draws on personal context from a paired iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence. Siri AI is labeled beta in HomeView software version 27.2. Other features include FaceTime, intercom, music and TV playback, multiroom audio, and smoke and carbon monoxide alarm detection.

"Apple HomeView is designed to be shared by everyone in the home yet feel completely personal to each user," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

Availability and accessories

HomeView will be sold in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the U.K. and the U.S., with Singapore pre-orders opening October 15 and South Africa sales through Apple Authorized Resellers. Apple said it is not available in the European Union because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS there.

Power accessories are sold separately in the U.S.:

• Power Mount USB-C Wall Connector: from $59.95
• Power Mount AC Wired: from $79.95
• Power Mount PoE Wired: $129.95, available in early 2027

The launch follows earlier reports that Apple was preparing a home hub product.
