Apple has announced a special event titled "Pro and Tell" for Wednesday, October 28 at 10 a.m. Pacific time in Los Angeles, according to 9to5Mac. Invitations went to press and were shared on social media by Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak.

A second event in October

It is Apple's second event this month. On October 13 in New York City, its "Welcome home" event introduced the HomeView smart display, HomePod mini 2 and a new Apple TV 4K. Apple has not said what it will show on October 28.

What is expected

Apple has not confirmed any products. 9to5Mac, citing Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, lists these expectations:

  • 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with OLED touchscreens, a Dynamic Island for the first time and a significantly lighter design, reportedly using M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
  • A revamped iPad mini with an OLED display, a reworked speaker system and a relocated FaceTime camera.
  • A new iMac and an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by an M6 chip, reportedly looking much like the current versions.

Context

The event name points to the Pro-branded Mac lineup, and a touchscreen MacBook Pro would be a notable change for Apple's laptops. Until Apple presents the products, the specifications above remain reports rather than confirmed details.
