Google said on October 13 that Gemini 4 Argon is now available to developers, enterprises and eligible subscribers, with introductory API pricing of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.
Where it is available
- Developers and enterprises: globally via the API in AI Studio and the Gemini platform
- Google AI Ultra subscribers: Google Antigravity
- Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers: the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search
Cached input tokens are discounted 95%. After November 30, 2026, pricing for the public model rises to $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens. The API offers a 1 million-token unified input and output limit.
Google's claims
The figures below come from Google's own post and have not been independently verified.
- Ranked first on the Vals Index, which measures performance on finance, coding, legal and tax tasks
- 87% on the ERQA embodied-reasoning benchmark
- Attack success cut to 0.7% on the Gray Swan indirect prompt-injection benchmark across 15 adaptive attempts
- Inside Google, agentic code submissions in Antigravity rose by more than 35% and code rollbacks fell by nearly a third
The post was written by Koray Kavukcuoglu, Google DeepMind's senior vice president and Google's chief AI architect.
Why it matters
The pricing step-up on November 30 means developers building on the model will face a doubling of per-token costs within about seven weeks. Benchmark results published by a model's developer are typically followed by third-party testing, which may differ.
