Nvidia said on October 16 that the first Windows laptops built around its RTX Spark superchip are on sale, with systems available through manufacturers' websites and major retailers and more models to follow.

The hardware

RTX Spark combines an Nvidia Blackwell RTX graphics processor and an Nvidia Grace CPU in a single chip. Nvidia said the CPU design was developed with MediaTek. According to the company, the chip offers:

  • Up to 128GB of unified memory
  • Up to 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance
  • Support for 8K 4:2:2 video editing and 3D scenes up to 90GB
  • 1440p gaming that Nvidia says reaches more than 100 frames per second in demanding titles

Nvidia also said supported configurations can run its Nemotron 3.5 Bolt 74B-A9B model locally.

Launch systems

Nvidia listed these machines at launch:

  • Asus ProArt P14 and P16
  • Dell XPS 16
  • HP OmniBook Ultra and OmniBook X 14
  • Lenovo Yoga Pro 9n
  • Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra
  • MSI Prestige N16 Flip AI+ and Prestige N16

Prices start at $2,599, according to the announcement, and vary by region and configuration. Final prices are set by each maker. New Perplexity users get a limited-time promotion.

Software and context

Nvidia said Adobe Photoshop and a beta of Premiere have day-one support, along with local AI agents such as Hermes and OpenClaw and games including Cyberpunk 2077, Fortnite and NBA 2K27 with DLSS 5. Adobe said separately on October 15 that Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D were optimized for the chip.

Microsoft introduced the Surface Laptop Ultra at its October 6 Windows event alongside Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang. In the launch release, Huang said RTX Spark brings Nvidia AI, RTX graphics and CUDA together with Windows in one PC. Microsoft executive vice president Yusuf Mehdi said Microsoft is building Windows to be the platform for "hybrid intelligence."

The launch moves Nvidia further into mainstream PC processors, a market long dominated by Intel, AMD, Qualcomm and Apple. Independent benchmarks and battery-life figures were not part of the announcement.
